A mini camping trip

We are going to Humboldt on Friday (my first day off of work since starting my new job in March!) but this past weekend we ended up on an impromptu camping trip. Jacob's coworker Stephanie had two campsites reserved planning on alot of her family making it camping, but when they all canceled she invited us to join them, so we did! We took the dogs and went to Lake Del Valle in Livermore.

It was a gorgeous weekend for camping! The dogs did really great. It was Zeus' first longer car ride and first camping trip. Zeus, especially, did remarkably well. I think he views the bed of the truck as a larger version of his kennel. He just picked a spot on top of the stuff and chilled out for the whole ride. Molly as usual ran around the bed of the truck like crazy, but she was a little more mellow than before.


They did really well in the tent and around the campsite. A really cute thing that I noticed was that when Molly got on the verge of getting in trouble, either by pulling her the leash or whining; Zeus would either bite her leash and tug on it or put one giant paw on her shoulder to shut her up.

Jacob and Galen got some paddling in.


I'm very excited about our upcoming camping trip. Now I'm confident that the dogs will do great and won't stress me out with bad behavior. It should be really fun!!

The other thing we did recently was paint our family room. It was alot of painting to cover the big walls with high ceilings. I'll post some pictures soon. We're going to do the adjoining dining room too and now have definite plans for the kitchen. I'll post pictures when its all done.
