Well summer is here!! I long for the days when that meant something other than later sunsets and warmer weather. When it meant a break from the everyday. Really my days are pretty basic and low stress so I "shouldn't" need too much of a break. But it was just so carefree to ride my bike around the corner for a slurpee, or go swimming at a lucky friends house. Even as an adult the reprieve of college classes was such a wonderful feeling. Now June can come and go and life just goes on.
The lack of updates to this blog is just a sign of an ordinary life. Get up, go to work, come home to dinner and relaxing with Jacob and the dogs. Interspersed with little home projects (or just keeping up on the chores) and a paddle or two.
I've got a couple of things to look forward to though and that's always a great thing! A book gathering (not a club). I decided to invite some friends to read a book with me over the summer and get together in August to visit, eat and talk about the book. (A Visit From the Goon Squad is our book). I also just signed up for a jewelry making class. I've been eyeing a local studio called A Work of Heart for a while now and just tonight took the plunge to sign up (alone) for a Resin Pendant class. I'm very excited about this! An opportunity to explore a new creative medium and to meet some new people. And I have a bake night planned with a great friend, I hope to use some berries off of our bramble to make some scones or cobbler, but if the berries aren't ready we'll venture into the world of recipes and find something else yummy to make.
In July Jacob and I are taking advantage of a free trip to Las Vegas! I have never been and am incredibly excited. We're going to see a Cirque du Soleil show, which we always love! Jacob has a friend who works on one of the shows and is helping us make the most of this opportunity. There is a long list of other things to see while we're there. We are not gamblers or clubbers so we'll be filling our time with taking in the sights of Paris, Venice, New York and all the other exotic locales found in this one city. Maybe we'll even find our way out to the Hoover Dam!
Finally (in my little summer update) I've been spending some more time in the garden. We have some beautiful morning glories
Oh and we're officially green!! The solar system is on the roof and generating 2.38 kw of power every day! Just in time for the temperatures to get a little warmer and us to run the A/C

Little Man is dying to go Kayaking. Every time we walk by them in SAMS he wants to buy one.
Well I can promise him a ride whenever we see him next!
