We started out this Sunday morning by going to help some friends put their fence back to vertical. The wild rain and wind that we have been having here blew it right over. After working on the fence we grabbed a Mexican breakfast and now I plan on spending my afternoon being domestic and staying warm and dry. I've got a mirror frame I want to paint, some laundry to wash and floors to clean. Plus I think I'll put Roman Holiday in the DVD player and take a break snuggled up with some cocoa and the dogs.
Here is our backyard in the rain, thankfully no damage, other than a soggy branch that is sagging on the lemon tree.
And we have some big puddles.
Before I get to all of that domesticity, a catchup of random things.
~ We have been having some wild weather here in NorCal. First we had the Tsunami waves that did some decent damage in Santa Cruz. Then it started raining, and it hasn't stopped save a few 20 minute breaks or so. Thankfully its not too cold. But it is windy, including some tornado action. I'm just grateful that we have stayed safe.
~ Really random thought here... I recently removed my belly button ring. It is incredibly bizarre to not have it there after 12+ years.
~ I closed Zeus' tail in the sliding glass door last night. He yowled and I felt terrible, but at least its not damaged. I think it really just snagged the hairs at the very end of the tail. Either way I'm sure that it really hurt him.
~ Jacob and I will be going to Greece for a week this summer!! Very excited about this as we didn't really get a chance to take a big trip anywhere last year. We'll be going with a friend from New York and her friend from Prague. Some time in Athens and a cruise that will take us to 8 other islands. culminating with an afternoon on the Island of Patmos, home to the Holy Grotto of the Revelation and the Monastery of St. John. I need to pick up some travel guides so I can learn a little more history about all of the islands that we will be visiting. Jacob really wants to find some sites related to the theatrical origins, so we need to figure out where those places are. We have about 4 months until we go so I have plenty of time to try and do this research.
~ The other incredibly exciting thing floating around my brain is my new nephew! I know this won't be news to you guys, but I am racking my brain trying to figure out how to meet him before he is walking. Seeing as how he's only 24 hours old now I guess I have some time before that, but I think that this is a sooner is better than later type of situation. I keep checking my phone for a text or email or facebook alert about pictures of the little man.
Hope you have a wonderful rest of your weekend!
p.s. I will try to follow up the ancestry with another branch really soon.

You can stay at our house when you come to MT to visit him - totally worth the trip, believe me.
Photos are taking longer than I expected - I don't have any because my lens is broken, and my back up camera doesn't have a flash - and he doesn't go outside at this point for photo shoots!
They actually posted some pics on facebook plus I get them texted to me too! I can't wait to see him and hold him!
