A kitchen adventure!!!

This past weekend Jacob and I spent our Saturday afternoon making Chile Verde and homemade tortillas!!! Using recipes supplied by his mom (who makes the best flour tortillas I have ever had!), we embarked on a messy, floury project.
1/2 lb of serrano chiles to make the base, in the end we used about 1/2 cup of the base that was made and froze the rest for future enchiladas and chile verde
Pork Chile Verde simmering in all the flavor
Jacob rolling out the balls of tortilla dough
Tortillas hot off the griddle (we gotta work on our shape, but they were delicious!)

And finally a plate of Chile Verde with fresh warm tortilla!!

It was such a fun afternoon to spend together in the kitchen trying out something new and learning together! We topped off our evening with a trip to the circus, which was totally amazing and fun in its own right, but there are no pictures to share. Trust me though, if Circus Vargas comes to your town they are worth the money for a great night of entertainment.

The tortillas look delicious! Mmmmmm! I can almost smell them!

I have your face cream, just need to get it mailed. Call me to make sure I've got the right one, and if you need anything else.
