The quick update on Zeus, he is now just over 42lbs at about 4.5 months. He's totally outgrown Molly. She used to seem "big" but now she seems totally petite and feminine compared to his broadness and solid feel. He's gained about 15 pounds in the 5 weeks that we have had him.
Every night we are on a mission when we get home to make sure that he gets a ton of exercise. If we don't, he wakes up at about 1AM with spurts of energy that last an hour or so. We've started getting creative as we find ways to entertain him, especially with the wet weather we have been having, he's not a big fan of going out in the rain, so walks have been hard. Our current favorite method of tiring him out is to play with a laser pointer, much like people do with cats. Here's a quick video of him chasing down the red dot....
Other exciting things this week...
- I laundered Jacob's cell phone. Not really exciting but definitely added some stress to our Sunday evening. Its an expensive phone, not to mention the data he had saved on it.
- At work we are in the middle of union negotiations, always a fun time had by all. Lots of late nights; meetings 3 times a week from 6-9, and lots of nauseous moments as I write contract language that may or may not get approved and I contemplate what the union's response might be.
- Jacob has been installing a ginormous (60 foot) video screen at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. He comes home with really cool behind the scenes stories from work about the giant turtles or the bat rays or watching the shark feedings.
- Tomorrow at work we start Executive Team Weekly Meetings, something that I apparently will play a critical role in. It's pretty exciting to think that I am considered a part of that team, who woulda thunk it?!
- We have a three day weekend coming up and are planning on putting on wetsuits to go play in the ocean!! Crazy!! I'm really excited though, just hoping the rain stays away like its supposed to.

Busy is a bit of an understatement for you. Sorry about the death of the cell phone. Things like that happen to all of us, but when it happens it is a real big bummer!
Glad the dogs are getting along. Do you think they could come teach our cats to get along? After three months big fat mean Tana still rips little tiny sweet Sophie to shreds - good thing I don't have a bias, right?
